Our charity of the quarter: Connections for Independent Living, brings us news for this week’s blog post! Connections aids individuals with disabilities obtain control of their lives. The nonprofit helps empower those with disabilities while also educating their community.
Recently, Connections and several other Greeley organizations are working with the Greeley Rec Center to develop adaptive recreational programming and services. This new board of Adaptive Recreation is open to anyone in the community; and new programs like their adaptive yoga are exciting to Union Colony, especially Lori, who has been attending yoga classes for several years!
Adaptive Yoga, hosted at the Greeley Recreation Center, provides props and hands-on adjustments to help each individual adapt to yoga poses that suit their body best.
Adaptive Yoga is the first Wednesday of the month with sessions on November 4 (that’s tomorrow!), November 18, December 2nd, and December 18. For more information, check out Connections for Independent Living’s website: www.connectionsforindependentliving.org.
